Compulsive Hand Washing

Lolly is constantly asking me lately to help her wash her hands. As in at least 20 times a day! Either she's developing some germ phobia issues early on in life or it's her coy little way of getting to play in the water and make a huge mess. Hmmmm......I wonder what it could be.

Owen totally did the same thing. They say that it means they are ready for the big kid potty! However, I agree with the whole playing in the water thing. Sadly, we still have that problem though only a few times a day now.

From what I've witnessed, there is very little actual "hand washing" involved. But rather a lot of filling and emptying of cups anything else she can find. I'm sure you're safe. No phobias, just an excuse for fun. Better water than wanting to paint your walls or something.

I know it's just the standard play in water thing for kids which I usually indulge her in. But with the whole house for sale thing, I haven't been quite as indulgent lately. Oh, I wish she would potty train! She can do it just fine, but refuses. It's got to be on her terms...guess that's why she was 9 days late. *sigh* Our latest activity is giving her a cup of water & an old paint brush when we're outside playing and she can "paint" anything she wants.
