All Things Good Giveaway

Since I'm enjoying all the excitement from the Flaky Friend giveaway and the Giveaway Carnival, I decided to hit my mom up for sponsorship of another giveaway. Being the generous woman that she is, she offered $25 to her online store All Things Good. This is a super good deal because everything on her site is currently 25% off with an additional 20% off orders over $100. And orders over $100 get another $25 gift card for your next purchase.

Everything that I've gotten I have enjoyed. If you're into some retro kitchen decor then this is perfect. And it's also in my kitchen so that must make it fabulous! This pineapple hand cream is absolutely yummy. And my favorite bird feeder. CG has this zen garden in his office and although he has been mocked on occasion, every mocker ends up playing with it before they leave! ;o)

Basically, there is something for everyone. The rules for this giveaway are the same as the last. Just leave a comment and I'll randomly pick a winner. The giveaway will go until midnight on August 5. If you link back to me from your blog, let me know and you get an extra entry into the drawing. Also, there's more giveaway fun over at Bloggy Giveaways.

Let the fun begin!

Love For All My Flaky Friends

Wow, it has been a really long time since I last posted. I didn't realize it had been so long. Lots has been going on around here and I just haven't had enough sleep to put it into coherent posts. You should actually be grateful that I haven't tried to post anything lately.

So, to make it up to all of you (ha ha) I'm hosting a fabulous giveaway!!!! Don't worry, it's nothing that I've made. It's a fabulous give away for the fabulous fellow blogger over at Hollywood Flakes. She has an etsy store offering adorably unfortunate looking stuffed animals and has had great success. So much success that she is going global and offering some giveaways. I personally have received a lovely mouse ornament made by Hollywood and despite it's rough exterior has managed to burrow into a special place in our hearts. Her plush are so cute that even if you don't win, you'll want to buy one! Of course, you'll have to tell her that I sent you just so I feel all cool and stuff. She's offering free shipping through the end of July if you don't want to have to wait around for my contest. Also, if you want to leave a comment telling which of the Flaky Friends is your favorite you'd be helping out with a little bit of market research. That's got to be tax deductible, right?!

Anywho, here are the details of our Fabulous Flaky Friend Giveaway. Just go ahead a leave a comment on this post, obviously not an anonymous one, and you'll be entered into the drawing for a $25 credit at the Flaky Friends Store. You can enter anytime (we're open 24 hours a day!) between now Wednesday August 5 (for CG) at midnight Utah Standard Time, which actually makes it 12:15. And to totally steal a good idea from someone I don't even know, if you link back to my blog from your blog, you get an extra entry into this very contest. Just send me an email so I know about it and I'll make sure you get in twice....or more if you have a lot of blogs that you write on.

And if you're looking to enter more than just my fabulous giveaway, over at Don't Try This At Home there is a Giveaway Carnival. Bloggers who are doing a giveaway have listed what they're giving and a link to their website to enter. The list is phenomenal so you could probably find just about anything you're looking for!

So....on your mark, get set.......COMMENT!!! And LINK!!! ;o)

Friday Favorites-Gorgeously Green!

A while back I wrote a post dedicated to Earth Day. I linked my post to the lovely ladies over at Seattle Moms Blog who then entered me into a drawing and I won! It's hard to believe, I know. It's a new book by Sophia Uliano that helps to make it a little easier to transition to a greener lifestyle. We all know about all the things that are bad for the environment and for us, but it gets a bit crazy when trying to figure out what we can do to fix. This book gives a lot of simple tips and steps to help you become the green you always knew you could be. I haven't read it all the way through yet, but I'm hopeful that I will learn something from it. And old dog can learn new tricks, right?!

So that just leaves me with one very important question. If I do every single thing that this book tells me to, will I look like the lady on the cover?!?!

P.S. You may all be wondering how I'm going to lead this into Friday Favorites, but sadly I have nothing clever. It's just that I wrote this post and then realized that it was Friday so I decided to make it my Friday Favorite. Pathetic, I know! I'll try to do better next week!

Books In Review

I've read a few books lately and I thought I would share my opinions with all of you because, ya know, everyone's been waiting for another opinion of mine!

We'll start off with "Sarah's Quilt" by Nancy Turner. It's the sequel to "These Is My Words" which is one of my all time favorite books. I really enjoyed it. There was an interesting story line and the writing was fabulous, just like the first book. It was a great story, but it lacked something. I'm thinking that it's because a character that was wonderful in the first book wasn't in the second book. Is that vague enough?! I don't want to spoil the first one for anyone. I want to read the third book, "Star Garden" in the near future so I'll let you know all my thoughts and feelings on that book as well. Because I'm nice like that. ;o)

Keeping with the quilt theme, I also read "The Fortune Quilt" by Lani Diane Rich. This book is about a psychic quilt maker. How could I NOT read this book! It was totally quirky with quite a few f-bombs, but it was fun to read.

So, can you guess what project I'm working on right now? ;o)
100 points for whoever guesses right!

Oops! I Did It Again!

I just cut my hair again. But I didn't cut off as much this time around, just blended it to make it look better. Ha ha! I know I was going to have HSF cut it for me, but I just got a little over excited with my scissors. You'll all be happy to know that before I did too much damage to myself, I moved on to CG and cut his hair. I was going for a "dog whisperer" look, but I'm not sure I quite got there. I'll post a picture later.

By the way, I have chatted with some other women who also cut their own hair on a regular basis. What a relief to know it's not just me. And my sister in law. ;o)

And I'm guessing you totally have that song stuck in your head now, too. You're welcome. At least I didn't pull a total Britney and shave my head. Yet. It has been pretty hot lately.....
