I just found out that I'm going to coach Lolly's soccer team. As you can probably tell, I'm not "athletically inclined". Pray for me. Actually, pray for the kids. I have no idea what I'm doing.
**CG wants to get me a t-shirt that says Coach on it. I think it will need an iron on of angel wings on the back. Lolly has decided that I need a whistle in order to be a coach. I think I'll probably need an electronic device to make my voice much louder in order for the kids to actually hear me.

Good luck! I think you might need it.
I'm sure you'll do fine. You have the internet at your fingertips. Go there for advice. Unfortunately I have none for you. None of my kids played soccer.
just keep hollerin' "get the ball", and you'll be fine.
What a good mommy you are! I can't wait to hear about your adventures on the field.
Sounds fun! Basically you help regulate who brings the treat, make sure everyone gets a turn playing and just lots of praising. They will all run after the ball and kick it into everyone's goal, making goals for other teams is pretty common trying to get them to make it to their own goal is another story. Taylor and Katelyn have lots of fun playing soccer this season. Taylor is in the kindergarten group, they basically learned how to kick the ball, dribble and the basic rules (our referees helped out with all the basics). Everyone is learning and just running around a lot. You get to be the cheerleader and teacher for the most part when they're so young, at least that is how it has worked out for us. Good luck! We've had fun!
SUCKER!!! Ha ha ha. I totally feel for you. I really enjoyed coaching Trace. At first I tried to come up with practice drills and game plans, then I realized they all just want to run and kick the ball. Relax and enjoy it. I got a whistle and I recommend it. I LOVE the idea of the angel wings. Now I wish I had gotten around to signing up Trace. You will do a fabulous job. We will have to get together and sip diet cokes and share coaching stories.....
Good luck. You will be fine.
Been there, done that! You will definitely need a whistle and lots of prayers! LOL
Sounds fun. I think the comment about the treats and making sure everyone gets to play is about right. I used to referee little girl's soccer and they mostly just swarm the ball anyway. Good luck!
Okay my first response was "seriously?" I didn't think our DNA supported the coaching of organized sports! I'm proud of you Hoosh! My only advice is to make sure all dandilions are all picked before the game starts! And get ready to laugh! It's so funny to watch them run around chasing each other more than the ball!
